The Langtry Manor Hotel was the location of the official launch of the Dorset Business Women Awards earlier this month. The occasion saw the long-awaited opening of the nominations for the 2012 awards, boasting 14 categories celebrating the work of local business women.
Local members of the business community gathered at the Langtry Manor and caught up over champagne and canapés. The room was filled with an eclectic mix of sponsors, savvy young business women, and business men supporting the awards. The atmosphere was positively buzzing as talk turned from last year’s winners to this year’s potential nominees, and speculation rose regarding who may take home the highly acclaimed lifetime achievement award, and the coveted employer and employee of the year awards.
The founder of the awards and MD of the Langtry Manor Hotel in Dorset, Tara Howard, spoke proudly of the praise that the awards has been receiving over the past 3 years and as well as the recent expansion of the awards, bringing them to other regions – as requested by so many business women from organisations throughout the country. Most importantly, she urged all attendees, and supporters of local business alike, not only to nominate their favourite women in business, but also to get online and start tweeting and re-tweeting to spread awareness and get more people involved in this inspirational event.
So, the only thing left to do is to get busy with nominations, which will close on 5th March and count down the days until the Awards ceremony on the 17th of May.
