Tonight is the night we’ve been looking forward to for weeks.. It’s the annual Bournemouth Tourism Awards and for us here at Langtry Manor, that means not only the chance to win some exciting awards, but the chance to dress up in something unashamedly glamorous!
This years event is being held tonight (Thursday 22nd November) at the O2 Academy. The theme of the night is Victorian Circus, with performances from fire-jugglers, jaw dropping routines from aerial hoop performers and silk artists and Herculean displays of strength from the Victorian strong men. (We like the sound of that!) The menu consists of traditional Victorian recipes including Dorset pheasant, a retro syllabub and even some of Mrs Beeton’s creations.
The event sees the refurbished Opera House return to its roots, as it was originally used as a circus. We know that it’s the taking part that counts, but that doesn’t stop us secretly hoping to win an award! But, win or lose, we’ll all enjoy the after show party with live band to play us into the early hours of the morning. Hands up, who wants to do the early shift….?
